Nutrient Mixing SOP

Order matters. Mixing nutrients wrong causes lockout, precipitation, and wasted money. Follow this exact sequence every time.

⚡ THE MIXING ORDER (memorize this)

1.
Water — fill to volume, let it come to room temp (65-72°F)
2.
Silica (if using) — add first, stir, wait 15 min before anything else
3.
CalMag — add and stir thoroughly
4.
Micro (if 3-part) — add and stir
5.
Grow / Bloom (base nutrients) — add and stir
6.
Supplements — PK boosters, enzymes, bennies, etc.
7.
pH adjust — LAST step. Test and adjust to target.

⚠️ NEVER mix concentrates together before diluting. Always add each product to WATER separately and stir between. Mixing concentrates directly causes chemical reactions that lock out nutrients.

Start clean

Water at room temperature (65-72°F) — cold water shocks roots
✓
If using tap water: let it sit 24hrs uncovered to off-gas chlorine, or use dechlorinator

Test base water pH and EC before adding anything (record for reference)

Add Nutrients (in order)
Follow the sequence above

Add Silica first (if using) — stir well, wait 15 min. Silica raises pH dramatically.

Add CalMag — measure precisely, stir 30 seconds
✓
Add Micro (3-part systems) — stir thoroughly before next bottle
✓
Add Grow or Bloom (base nutes) — stir thoroughly
✓
Add any supplements (PK booster, enzymes, microbes, etc.)

💡 Start at 50% of bottle-recommended dose. Feeding schedules are designed to sell nutrients. Most plants thrive at half strength. Increase only if they're hungry.

Seedling target: 0.4-0.8 EC / 200-400 PPM
✓
Veg target: 0.8-1.4 EC / 400-700 PPM
✓
Flower target: 1.2-2.0 EC / 600-1000 PPM
✓
If too high: add more water. If too low: add more nutes carefully.

pH Adjust (LAST)
Always the final step
✓
Test pH of final mix
✓
Soil target: 6.3-6.5. Coco/hydro target: 5.8-6.0.
✓
Add pH Up or Down in small amounts — stir, wait 30 sec, re-test
✓
Confirm pH is in range — now you're ready to feed
✓
Use solution within 24hrs — mixed nutes degrade over time
