Coco Coir Daily Checklist

Coco is NOT soil. It needs to be fertigated (fed with every watering), never dry out, and always have CalMag. This daily checklist keeps you on track.

โš ๏ธ COCO RULE #1: CalMag in EVERY watering. Coco naturally binds calcium and magnesium, stealing it from your plants. No exceptions.

Daily Coco Checklist0%
1
Mix Your Feed
Every watering is a feeding in coco
โœ“
CalMag first โ€” 3-5ml/gal added to water before anything else
โœ“
Base nutrients added per your feeding schedule (start at 50% if unsure)
โœ“
Supplements added (enzymes, microbes, etc.)
โœ“
pH adjusted to 5.8-6.0 โ€” coco range is tighter than soil
โœ“
Check EC of mixed solution โ€” record it
2
Fertigate
Water until runoff
โœ“
Water slowly until 10-20% runoff appears from bottom of pot
โœ“
Collect runoff โ€” don't let pots sit in it (elevate on risers)
โœ“
Test runoff pH โ€” should be 5.5-6.2
โœ“
Test runoff EC โ€” should be less than 2ร— your input EC

๐Ÿ’ก Runoff EC climbing? Salts are building up. Do a "flush" feed at half-strength, extra volume until runoff EC drops. Then resume normal feeding.

3
Monitor & Adjust
Drift management
โœ“
Runoff pH drifting below 5.5? Feed at pH 6.0-6.2 for a few days to bring it up
โœ“
Runoff pH drifting above 6.2? Feed at pH 5.6-5.8 to bring it down
โœ“
Runoff EC much higher than input? Salt buildup โ€” flush at next watering
โœ“
Coco should never be bone dry โ€” if surface is light/dry, water sooner
โœ“
Multiple feeds per day? In late veg/flower, big plants may need 2-3 fertigations daily

โš ๏ธ Letting coco dry out causes massive pH and EC swings that shock roots. Unlike soil, coco should always be moist. If you're away for a day, water extra before leaving.

Coco grows massive plants with the right genetics. Seeds from 80+ breeders.
